Itemization in Pagan Online is split into six different types:
An additional category of drop are Hero Shards 
.
They can be obtained throughout the game, but most commonly during assassination missions.
Hero items are dropped by tiers. These tiers are indicated by the number of diamonds on the item description when mousing over it, and indicate further the level range of the item:
- Tier 1 - 1-10
- Tier 2 - 11-20
- Tier 3 - 21-30
- Tier 4 - 31-40
- Tier 5 - 41-50
Items are affected by item modifiers. These modifiers determine how items are affected by the materials used to make or reforge an item.
