In Valence, there is great allure and attraction to the Royal Assassin profession, as it carries with it great prestige and honor. However, what is often more alluring to the frequently bored and occasionally talented nobility is the opportunity to explore incredible, new lands outside the Shroud. Though it is not allowed for those of the highest order in the Court to perform such menial tasks, there have been cases where a Countess, Baroness or even Princess hides her identity and submits herself to Royal Assassin training. Many a talented royal has been caught and prevented from pursuing their passion, but the occasional few manage to go all the way and leave Valence on a quest for glory and bloodshed.
