Spending too much time within Shroud-infested territories changes those that dwell there. It changes them to simply being dead, mostly, but sometimes the taint of the Shroud produces what is known as the Demonskin. Soldiers keeping guard often whisper of their most prominent warriors returning from the Shroud encased in ghastly demonic armor, silently keeping vigil and still fighting on the side of mankind, their inner torment hidden from scrutiny.
